I think what really made me buy a Nokia 2600 was the fact that it's small, affordable, and doesn't charge for incoming text messages unlike other TracFones. Sure, it doesn't have a camera (which many cellphone users nowadays can't and won't live without) nor does is it come equipped with MP3-playing software, but those aren't my priorities when I bought my 2600 anyway. The fact that it's pre-loaded with 3 games is actually enough for me (I'm getting addicted to Bounce).

I like how the screen of the 2600 is just right. It doesn't look and feel cramped unlike with other small cellphones. This makes it easier to use the spreadsheet software, which is also one of the reasons why I bought a 2600. Reception is also awesome. The downside, however, is that the earpiece volume is a bit low even after I've set the volume at the max level. This makes it especially hard to take calls when I'm in a restaurant or grocery store. The battery also drains pretty quickly, even when I only played games, like, 2 hours max. The Nokia 2600 is a good phone if you really just need a small unit for texting and taking calls. But if you're looking for MMS/Camera/WAP/MP3-playing capabilities, the 2600 is not the phone for you.

First off, let me say I have two cell phones. A Blackberry for business and my Nokia 2600. The 2600 works very well for what I need on a personal level. One of the great proʼs for this phone is that it has a spreadsheet in the extra features. Iʼve put my company information on the spreadsheets and that allows me to view business info when away from the office. I really appreciate that. I also like the interchangeable face plates and color screen. My 2600 also doesnʼt charge for incoming text messages. GREAT!! When I want to wind down after a long day, believe it or not I sometimes play games on my phone while riding the train home. The Nokia 2600 has three games: Million Mission, Mobile Soccer and Bounce. This phone also has a speaker phone so you arenʼt driving and trying to hold the phone to your ear at the same time; which is now illegal in some areas.

Now for a con or a couple of not so great things Iʼve found with the Nokia 2600. I realized that it would be nice to have a camera on my phone after buying it. Nothing top of the line, but just something in case there is a fender bender or you come across a long lost friend in the grocery store and want to take their picture! And yes, I did have occasion where I saw a friend from grade school and wished I could have taken a picture of her (didn't have my Blackberry and her phone was broken). Lastly the ringer is not loud enough for me. When I'm out and about sometimes it's very noisy downtown and I need a louder ringer. Other than those two caveats, I'd say the Nokia 2600 is a good phone if you need it for simply talking and texting.
